    Jeffery Thompson

    Assistant General Manager

    In less than a decade, Assistant General Manager Jeff Thompson has assumed quite a few roles in the restaurant industry. "I have done everything from hosting, to serving, to tending bar, to catering, to managing, a bit of event planning, dishwashing, prep cooking...pretty much everything besides cooking on the line." A native of nearby Waunakee, Jeff started working as a server when he was in college and fell in love with the fast pace and the many interesting people he got to meet. "My favorite thing about this industry is the people," says Jeff. "I get to meet a ton of interesting people who come into my restaurant. People always go out to have a good time, so they generally aren't in a bad mood. I love meeting people from all walks of life and learning a bit about them, and I really enjoy getting to help make the experience special for them and to put a smile on their faces." Of his fellow restaurant people, Jeff says, "I especially love how hard-working most people are. In order to be successful in this business you have to invest a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and time. You never truly know someone until you have spent 15 to 17 hours a day with them 6 or 7 days a week." While that sounds like a lot of work, it's not always that way. "I love working for Food Fight because they take care of their people. We are probably the only company that offers all employees paid time off. Also, management firmly believes in promoting from within and giving their people the tools and knowledge to succeed." Jeff also manages to enjoy plenty of time for video games as well as disc golfing, hiking, and just being outside in general.
